Referral marketing disclosure

How this site earns, who does the roofing, and what that arrangement means for the homeowner who rings it.

In a trade where the company answering the telephone is frequently not the company that arrives, being clear about the structure matters more than usual. Here it is, in order.

  1. Independent contractors do the roofing. They run their own businesses, vehicles and insurance, and they are not employees of Gulfport Roof & Storm. Residential work above $10,000 and commercial contracts above $50,000 require a Mississippi State Board of Contractors licence, and that is verified alongside the insurance certificate before any address is passed over.
  2. Gulfport Roof & Storm takes the call and works out what is wrong. At any hour, including during storm season when the whole coast rings at once. The triage matters: distinguishing a failed vent boot from wind uplift across two slopes decides what materials go on the truck and how urgently somebody drives.
  3. Contractors pay us a booking fee. That is how this site is funded. It is a commercial arrangement between us and them, forming part of their cost of trading in the same way that advertising does.
  4. The fee does not sit on top of your price. What you pay is the figure quoted on your driveway after the roof has been inspected, itemised into materials and labour. You are free to obtain competing quotations and compare them line by line, and we would encourage it.
  5. Your contract is with the contractor. The invoice, any workmanship warranty and any manufacturer warranty on materials all run between you and them. We arranged the introduction.
  6. Complaints come to us first. We chose the contractor, so a complaint about their work is received here and pursued with them on your behalf, under the timeframes at complaints. That does not restrict your right to approach them directly or to use any other remedy.
  7. We are not a manufacturer or a dealer. No affiliation, authorisation or endorsement exists with any shingle, membrane or metal manufacturer. Brand names appear on this site to describe materials, nothing more.
  8. We are not public adjusters. We document storm damage and provide an itemised scope. We do not negotiate claims, represent you to a carrier, inflate a scope or touch a deductible.
  9. We disclose this without being asked, because a homeowner is entitled to know whether the business they telephoned is the business that will be on the ladder, and a structure revealed only under questioning is not really disclosed.

Questions about any of the above: hello@gulfportroofandstorm.com or (228) 364-1994.

Water coming in, or shingles gone after the wind?

Tarping goes on first so the deck stops taking water, then the roof is inspected and documented properly. Across Gulfport, Biloxi and the coast, with the figure agreed before anything is torn off.
